View2Plan is a professional .NET add-in for Autodesk Civil 3D designed to bridge the gap between vertical/cross-sectional data and horizontal plan views. It eliminates the need for manual geometric translations by automatically projecting CAD elements (lines, blocks, points) from Profile Views and Section Views directly onto their exact global coordinates in the Plan View.

Core Capabilities:

  • Profile to Plan Projection (GR_P2PL): Accurately translates object elevations and stationing (chainage) from a Profile View onto the master alignment in the Plan View.
  • Section to Plan Projection (GR_S2PL): Maps cross-sectional data points and targeted objects back to their precise X/Y locations on the 2D/3D plan.
  • Centralized Settings Palette (SPPMAPPER): A dedicated UI palette allows engineers to define mapping rules for specific layers, blocks, and entity types, ensuring strict control over the projection output.
  • Coordinate Transformation: Executes complex mathematical translations from Viewport coordinate space (Station/Offset/Elevation) to the World Coordinate System (Northing/Easting) seamlessly.

General Usage & Workflow:

Initiate the configuration via the Settings Palette (SPPMAPPER) to establish your projection parameters. Select the target CAD objects within your active Profile or Section view, and execute the respective projection command (GR_P2PL or GR_S2PL). The plugin instantly calculates the geometric transformation and generates the correctly positioned objects in the Plan View, saving significant processing time during detailing and conflict resolution phases.
